These internships offer civic-minded young people firsthand experience in how state government works and a chance to learn about the various jobs and careers in public service that exist in Massachusetts.

College students

College students are eligible to participate in a summer-long internship in Representative Hogan’s office, during which they have the chance to roll up their sleeves and get to work learning the many duties and responsibilities involved in supporting an active legislative office.

College students can intern in either Representative Hogan’s State House Office, located in Boston, or District Office, located at Maynard Town Hall.

State House Office (Boston)

  • 2018 Summer Internships run May 14 – July 20 (start date is flexible)

District Office (Maynard)

Hogan’s Week on Beacon Hill,” a short program in which students travel to Boston for one week during the summer to explore the capitol building, assist with projects in Representative Hogan’s office, and participate in the State House’s “Summer Legislative Intern Speaker Series” – a bipartisan seminar series organized specifically for State House interns in which constitutional officers, legislators, and advocates speak about their jobs and responsibilities.

  • 1 week during the months of June or July
  • Monday through Thursday, approximately 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
